Atom Egoyan
Atom Egoyan on the Charlie Rose Show

Atom Egoyan's influence on Bruce Greenwood's professional life has been profound. Their 1994 collaboration, Exotica, remains the seminal turning point of Bruce's career and lead to the 1997 masterpiece, The Sweet Hereafter, for which Egoyan received two Oscar nominations. A consummate artist, Egoyan's genius as a director, writer and producer of vision and startling originality is combined with qualities he shares with Bruce -- an innate sense of dignity, simple everyday morality, thoughtful intelligence, and focused integrity. We fittingly devote a few pages to this talented man.

ATOM AND BRUCE

Atom and Bruce

In 1993 Atom Egoyan was searching for a lead for his most important filmmaking venture to date: a film he called Exotica. His original concept was to star Maury Chaykin as an overweight, middle-aged habitué of a strip club. When Chaykin was unavailable his agent suggested Bruce Greenwood -- a younger, better looking actor, who could not have been more different from Chaykin. Atom Egoyan was intrigued, watched his work and instantly decided to re-write Exotica with Bruce in mind. That collaboration has resulted in a friendship as well as a working process that has been extraordinarily enlightening and fulfilling for Bruce Greenwood.

Atom Egoyan's films with Bruce Greenwood are also among his most respected and honored and are covered in enormous detail on this website. With the help of many fans hundreds of reviews, interviews, pictures and awards have been collected on the three films already produced and we will continue to collect data on all upcoming projects:

Exotica
