A Bay Area Visit

Pinole Creek Cafe

Champagne brunch in Hercules, CA with Ann Deutsch, Ingrid Deiwiks and Pamela McKay.

A Note from Pamela McKay

It's always a pleasure to meet fellow Bruce fans, but it's especially gratifying when the gatherings are with people who've been so generous in their efforts for the webpage. I was utterly delighted then, when Ann Deutsch suggested a Greenwoodian get-together with Ingrid (from Palo Alto) and myself (from Hercules) while she was in the Bay Area visiting relatives. After discarding several plans, we eventually decided the smartest place to meet would be my home, the center of all things Greenwoodian! So we built her visit around brunch at a nearby cafe, just a short Bay walk away. We had a lot of fun, but I'll let Ann tell it her way:

A Note from Ann Deutsch

I hesitated about meeting Pam and Ingrid because of the slight age difference (did I say slight - LOL), but found them to be very gracious and friendly to me. We arranged to meet at the Oakland Airport. Having been told what to look for, when I saw this beautiful blue mustang convertible pull up with two gals waving at me, I knew instantly that it must be them. After a wild ride in the convertible (having my hair wind blown must have made me look scary, but the ride was so much fun), we arrived at Pam's place in Hercules. From there we walked to a restaurant where we had a luscious brunch and needless to say, we couldn't talk enough about our favorite STAR. BTW, it was a bright, sunny day and I was drinking in all the beautiful scenery since I hadn't been in the East Bay area for several years. When we arrived back at Pam's, she proceeded to show me a lot of her Bruce memorabilia, which I couldn't get too much of. She also had time to show me how she puts her info onto the webpage. It was fun watching her, but I would need a lot more instruction if I had to do it myself. All in all, I spent a very enjoyable afternoon with them. Before I knew it, it was time to return to my sister's, whom I was visiting north of San Francisco.

It was a real pleasure for me to meet the people behind the emails, and to put a voice to the pictures I had of them. I hope someday we can have a bigger Greenwood get-together. I know it sounds kind of impossible since we all live so far apart, but it would be so neat to meet everyone who works on the page.
