Legmen

Jack and DonJ.T. and Bruce
Two publicity shots of Bruce Greenwood and J.T. Terlesky

(television series; ran from January 20 - March 20, 1984 on NBC)

Short-lived TV series that prompted Bruce Greenwood's relocation from Vancouver to Los Angeles, he starred along with J.T. Terlesky (later calling himself John) as college students looking for some extra income and excitement by hiring themselves out as legmen to a bail bondsman played for two episodes by Don Calfa and after that by Claude Akins. The plots usually involved the boys in simple car-repossession or process-serving errands that escalated into flying bullets and beautiful women. There was a flurry of Hollywood publicity for both young actors (Greenwood being "blond and beautiful"; Terlesky "dark and handsome") but Greenwood himself described the show as "unbelievably hectic, like wet shoes on linoleum floors trying to round corners".

Lightweight but lots of fun, the series switched time spots thrice in its brief life, which no doubt contributed to its quick cancellation. In the end, the show's principle signficance for Bruce Greenwood is that it was his first starring role in Hollywood and his first distinctive brush with fame.

Sources differ greatly on when the show was last broadcast - with March 16th, March 20th and April 6th all appearing in reputable sources. Since an entry in TV Guide places it on the 20th, that's the accepted date here. Apparently a 7th episode also aired months later - on or near September 1st, but not all areas received the broadcast, since no listing appears in any TV Guide for that date received so far.
