Production wraps this weekend in Vancouver on the CTV original movie
"The Squad". The two-hour drama follows a group of dedicated beat cops
as they interact and videotape drug addicts while on patrol in
Vancouver's legendary Downtown Eastside. Inspired by the award-winning
documentary "Through A Blue Lens", the movie focuses on the frontline
patrolmen who make the area their beat and the citizens their concern.
"The Squad" stars Bruce Greenwood (Thirteen Days, The Sweet Hereafter)
and Brian Markinson (The Curse of the Jade Scorpion, Sweet and Lowdown)
as the movie's central characters, veteran Vancouver beat cops. Ian
Tracey (Milgaard, Da Vinci's Inquest) and Terry Chen (Almost Famous, The
Other Woman) co-star as two young cops who join their colleagues in
their quest for change. Nancy Sivak (Little War, The Twilight Zone) and
Gemini Award-winning actress Alisen Down (Mysterious Ways, Cold Squad)
are cast as two of the drug-addicted prostitutes. Katherine Isabelle
(Ginger Snaps, Disturbing Behaviour) portrays Amber, a suburban runaway
whose parents are trying to save her from a desperate fate.
